Purpose of this notice

The purpose of this privacy policy is to inform visitors and clients about how we process their personal data, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the Hungarian Act CXII of 2011 on the right to informational self-determination and on freedom of information.

Categories of personal data processed

John Kft. processes the following personal data:

  • Quote requests: full name, email address, phone number, and any additional information provided in the message.
  • Contact inquiries: name, email address, phone number, message content.
  • Automatic collection when using the website: IP address, browser type, visit timestamp, pages viewed (in anonymized form).
Purpose and legal basis of processing
  • Handling quote requests and inquiries – Legal basis: consent of the data subject (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)) and steps prior to entering into a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • Performance of contractual obligations – Legal basis: performance of a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • Compliance with legal obligations (e.g. invoicing, accounting) – Legal basis: legal obligation (GDPR Art. 6(1)(c)).
  • Website operation and security – Legal basis: legitimate interest of the controller (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
Retention period

Data related to quote requests and inquiries will be stored for up to 1 year after the case is closed; for contractual relationships, up to 5 years after the contract ends (Hungarian Civil Code statute of limitations); for accounting records, up to 8 years (Hungarian Act C of 2000 on Accounting).

Data transfers and processors

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. The following processors may access the data for the following purposes:

  • Hosting provider – website operation
  • Accountant – compliance with legal obligations
  • IT service providers – system maintenance
Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding the personal data concerning you:

  • Right of access: you may request information on the data we process about you.
  • Right to rectification: you may request correction of inaccurate data.
